Hi Eva! Cool that you are sharing stories from your daily trainee life here. Tell me, what's your Motto?
“The real secret of success is enthusiasm.” Walter Chrysler
What's your Power Bar?
Sport helps me to switch off and get a clear head. At the weekend, I like to travel and visit friends and family to recharge my batteries.
Sounds great! What makes you run away screaming?
Starting the day without breakfast and coffee
Hi Eva! I hear you’ve just finished your first station. So how was it?
At the Brand Management at Cofresco in Minden :) That’s right, the first month at Melitta Sales Europe was really good. I was working in Category Management and got a really good impression of Melitta so far.
What was the main highlight?
I found it really exciting to take part in the Category Management training session with 16 other colleagues. I learned a lot and was able to use it for the European CM project for coffee machines I was working on.
What did you have to do there?
I collected and compiled information from many countries about our key customers and products as well as sales and quantity figures. Doesn't sound that spectacular, but was actually really interesting!
And what’s it like to finally earn some real money?
Fantastic! I treated myself to an extensive shopping trip to Hanover with my girls
Hey Eva, how was field sales? Still enjoying your time at Melitta?
Definitely, I’m still loving it here. I was visiting food retailers in the last 5 weeks and before that specialist stores for 7 weeks. So far, I’m really enjoying it here.
I guess you were given quite a lot of responsibility in field sales?
Too right! I introduced new products to our customers, took orders and provided product training. And I was able to do store checks on my own to see if the customer was complying with everything and what they might still be able to improve.
Sounds fun – but also challenging, right?
That’s true. It definitely wasn't that easy to get to know both sectors and the products in such a short space of time so I could give our customers good advice.
Let me know how it is at Cofresco :)
Wow, time’s flying. My two months at Cofresco are already over. The time I spent in Product Management was great. I was with the colleagues in Waste Management.
Cool, for any specific product?
Mostly garbage bags. We had a shelf test project in Spain which we needed a new branding for. I was finally able to use my Spanish again because I was the interface between the German and Spanish product managers and took over both communication and organization.
Great, sounds really varied your trainee program.
Definitely! It’s true that I sometimes miss the flexibility to organize my day myself, like it was in college, but otherwise I’m really happy here. Not having to sit down at the desk after work also has its appeal :)
Was waren dort deine Aufgaben?
Klingt spannend! Was ist dein persönliches Highlight?
