Think long term.

Act sustainably.

What kind of world do we want to live in?

We firmly believe that sustainability is the key to our future – as a society and as a company. Sustainability is therefore an expression of our attitude and the promotion of sustainable development is part of our corporate mission.Or to put it another way: we either do it sustainably or we don’t do it at all.

We regard sustainability as a continuous process. For this reason, we think sustainability in transformational terms and take a holistic approach. We always link sustainability with innovation and a culture of cooperation. Our aim is to work together in order to have a greater (joint) impact.

„What kind of world do we want to live in?“

This is a question that we at the Melitta Group have given a great deal of thought to – as a traditional family business, as a responsible employer, and as a globally active group of companies.

One thing is clear for us: we want to pass on a world to our children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren that is worth living in and will remain that way. A world in which we can stay healthy and live the life we want. A world with an intact environment and a society that is just, peaceful, and tolerant.

We have decided to do everything in our power to achieve this goal. However, we cannot succeed alone – only together with our business partners, suppliers, and customers. Each and every one of us has a role to play, but we can only find the best solutions for the future if we work together and are prepared to think and act innovatively. Our goal: joint impact.

That is our conviction

and that is what we are committed to.

What kind of world do you want to live in? And: what do you want to see from us? Where and how should we get involved? What could we perhaps do together?

Doing business

means taking responsibility.

Promoting a sustainable development is part of our corporate mission and sustainability is therefore one of our seven core values. Our aim is that all our employees not only internalize and live sustainability, but also put their heart and soul into driving it forward.

As a family business with a long history, we think and act across generations. The long-term preservation of values is more important to us than short-term success.

What does that mean in concrete terms? The four columns below represent the key elements of our strategic sustainability engagement:

Our objective

Where we want to go - our goals!

We have taken the first steps and already achieved quite a lot. However, there is still a long way to go. We have therefore set ourselves ambitious targets for the coming years. You can find our medium-term objectives for a decade of transformation in our Sustainability Statement:

The steps we are taking to achieve these objectives are described in our Sustainability Report 2020:
